A little girl. An extraordinary journey.
A story still being written.
Merritt is Mike and Brianna’s daughter, and from her very first days of life, she has faced more than any child should. Through every uncertain day, our family has held onto faith, the kindness of others, and hope for the road ahead.
“Do not fear, for I am with you.”
Isaiah 41:10What began with meconium aspiration at birth quickly led to pulmonary hypertension and an unexpected 11-day NICU stay. Before our family had much time to settle into life with our new baby, hospital rooms and breathing support had already become part of her story.
Even in those earliest days, Merritt was surrounded by love. Every quiet moment together mattered.
After just three weeks at home, Merritt suffered a seizure in our arms and became critically ill with sepsis and respiratory failure.
Her PICU journey brought multiple intubations, pneumonia and other respiratory infections, collapsed portions of her lungs, pulmonary hypertension, seizures, and a stroke. These were challenges no family expects to face, and days when every prayer and every act of kindness meant so much.
During this critical illness, Merritt developed severe kidney failure and became dependent on continuous dialysis. She later underwent surgery to place a peritoneal dialysis catheter.
Genetic testing identified a rare WT1 gene mutation described in her fundraiser as Denys-Drash syndrome. It gave our family a clearer understanding of the kidney disease she was facing and the care she would need.
Her road ahead includes long-term dialysis, removal of her native kidneys, and ultimately a kidney transplant.
The long days have also held tender moments: a favorite teddy bear, a familiar voice, a small smile, and the comfort of simply being together.
Support through merchandise and GoFundMe helps with Merritt’s medical expenses, travel, meals, living expenses, and her family’s needs. Every prayer, share, and gift is part of the community standing beside her.

For this preview, a standard T-shirt uses 1 packing unit, a sweatshirt uses 3, a onesie uses 0.5, a Merritt Bear uses 2, and a cap uses 2 to allow room for its shape. For T-shirts and sweatshirts, Adult 2XL multiplies those units by 1.25, 3XL by 1.5, and 4XL by 1.75. Each complete group of 10 wristbands of either style adds 0.25 units in mixed orders. The cart uses the larger applicable single estimate, never the sum of two separate shipping fees. These new-product packing allowances are estimates, not measured capacities.
Actual folded sizes, packed weight, packaging dimensions, origin/destination ZIP codes and purchased-label rates must be tested before launch. The $7.99 small-order price is a seller-set charge, not a guaranteed USPS rate. Estimated 5–7 business days includes order handling; it is not a carrier guarantee.
